Summer League
Our goal for this league is to foster a fun and friendly environment for everyone involved. It is not intended to be a competition, but rather an opportunity for children to enjoy time with their friends or try a new sport.
Term 4 is running every Wednesday from the 22nd October to 10th December on our top fields at Waipuna Park.
Years 1 & 2 will play at 3:30pm. The game will consist of two 12-minute halves with a 6-minute half-time break. Each team will have four players on the field, with no goalie. The maximum number of players per team is 7.
Years 3 & 4 will play at 4:00pm. The game will consist of two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute break. Each team will have five players on the field, including a goalie, with no more than 8 players per team.
Years 5 & 6 will play at 4:45pm. The game will consist of two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute break. Each team will have five players on the field, including a goalie, with no more than 8 players per team.
Years 7 & 8 and 9 & 10 will either play at 4:45pm or 5:30pm (depending on how many Year 5 & 6 teams enter). This age group will play two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute break. Each team will have five players on the field, including a goalie, with no more than 8 players per team.
The cost is $120.00 per team. Individuals placed in a Waipuna team will be required to pay $25.00 each. Waipuna FC will invoice the schools and individuals that have submitted their registrations via email.
Individual players — if your child’s school is not entering a team in our league but they would still like to play, we would love to place them in a Waipuna team! Please email your child’s full name, current school year, and the school they attend to admin@waipunafc.co.nz. We will do our best to make sure they don’t miss out on the fun!
If the fields are not already set up, we kindly ask our teams to set up their fields (by placing a goal down one end of your playing field). Years 1 & 2 and Years 7+ (who are the last to play on their fields) are asked to pack down their fields.
Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and sunscreen as the days get warmer.
Draws will be posted weekly on our Facebook page.
If you would like to read the full information booklet, please feel free to email admin@waipunafc.co.nz, and we will be happy to send it to you.
