Our coach doesn’t have any boys in the team but has stepped in to contribute so much to these players. His nephew plays in the team and that’s how contact was made.
He has a sport background himself, and has taught them so much about commitment and discipline.
They are a neat little group of boys who have learned so much from him, not only skills but also good sportsmanship.
It is really rare to find someone to give up every Thursday evening (4.30-6) in the cold and their Saturday mornings when it’s not even their kid playing !!
He’s a good guy , makes every training count ( with ever changing drills etc that were planned over each week in his own time) and it would be fabulous to acknowledge that …
Congratulations to our coach of the year 2018 = Adam Wilson (11th grade Flames)
Matt Minden award – to a waipuna club referee of the year –
Our referee coaches a minigrade team so can’t always make our games but when he does he referees and does a fantastic job . He knows the rules well, but uses discretion when applying rules to allow the girls to play a fluid game. At the Waipuna 10th grade tournament, he refereed either half or full games for the 5 matches we played. Knowing he can referee allows me to focus fully on coaching the girls and that is priceless as a coach.
He’s busy coaching his sons team & refereeing his daughters team whenever possible.. he is the most valued Referee for 2018 = Jason Gibbs
The club would also like to acknowledge the other nominations this year for Mindham trophy – the club and your teams appreciate you giving up your time for extra training and upskilling for what is at times not an easy job.
Thank you (certificates to present)
